‘ICSL was built to give overlooked talent a stage they deserved.”

Meet The Founder: Tim Latiker

ICSL Sports was founded by Tim Latiker, a former collegiate and professional basketball player with international experience, driven to create a bigger stage for athletes and conferences. His career spans elite high school competition, Division I recruitment, collegiate athletics, and professional experience in both the United States and internationally.

From 1997 to 2000, Tim competed for the Durant Tigers in Mississippi, where his performance and leadership earned him multiple awards and national recognition. His success led to selection for the Nike travel team Magnolia All-Stars, coached by Thomas Billups, and AAU competition with the Jackson Panthers under former NBA players. By his senior year, Tim was named one of the Top 12 players in the state of Mississippi and received All–USA Honorable Mention placing him among future professional athletes who went on to play in the NBA, NFL, and top international leagues. He received multiple Division I offers, signed a scholarship with Mississippi State University, and was selected to compete in the Mississippi vs. Alabama All-Star Game.

Tim continued his collegiate career at Connors State College (2000–2002) before transferring to Mississippi Valley State University (2003–2005). Following college, he began his professional career with the Mississippi HardHats and later competed internationally, playing in Mexico with Mazatlán de Tiburones (CIBACOPA) and Morelia Guerreros (LNBP). His international journey continued with experience in the Dominican Republic (LNB) in Santo Domingo, participation in the Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas, and basketball events in Bonn, Germany. Over the following years, Tim returned to Mexico to compete in LNBP and Liga Chihuahua, playing for teams including Torreón, Jiménez, Delicias, Camargo, and Fresnillo in Zacatecas.

Beyond playing, Tim spent multiple years in Mexico coaching, training, and identifying young talent, helping bridge opportunities between international prospects and the U.S. basketball system. In 2017, his journey was featured in the Viceland documentary The Last Shot, and that same year he founded an AAU program, which he led from 2017 to 2022, focused on development, mentorship, and exposure for young athletes.

After relocating to Chicago in 2022, Tim became deeply involved in helping athletes prepare for college-level competition, training young players and guiding them through the realities of the recruitment process. These experiences — spanning grassroots basketball, collegiate competition, professional leagues, and international development — shaped the vision for ICSL Sports.

ICSL was created to give conferences and athletes a larger stage for competition, visibility, and opportunity. Built from firsthand experience, ICSL reflects Tim’s belief that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity and exposure do not. The platform is designed to unify competition, elevate overlooked talent, and create meaningful pathways for athletes, conferences, and institutions to be seen on a bigger stage.
